Milly Babirye Mwaka, Headteacher RJS

We provide a learning environment that supports children to develop the skills necessary for them to construct personal knowledge of the world around them at an early age. Providing a safe and nurturing environment, we believe in teaching and preparing children for a successful academic journey. Our enthusiastic staff ensures that all the children in our care develop as we nurture excellence for greatness.

Each child is treated as unique and special. We believe that to achieve high standards and develop confident, independent children who are well-behaved and caring, we have to work as a team with our parents. Our school allows each child to grow in confidence and independence thus producing a holistic being.

We work hard in school to ensure all our children are actively engaged in learning. Our innovative and engaging curriculum has been designed to ensure that the children’s learning is motivative. Our children are provided with a range of exciting and stimulating programmes, including Leader in me, football, Rhythm and dance, gardening, Reading for life series, Mindset games, Social Graces, Spelling Bee, Creative Arts, Creative play (and many more). In addition we hold themed weeks such as Healthy Living, Book Week and Science Week. All these enrich our children's learning and enable us to develop a holistic child.

We look forward to working with you as we nurture great leaders.

Dear Parents,

At Raphela Junior School we have high expectations for all our pupils and encourage them to be the best that they can be. We believe fundamentally that happiness is a necessary prerequisite for learning and growth. As a result, excellence and enjoyment are at the heart of everything that we do. We believe that early childhood education should ignite, inspire and engender passion in children, setting the foundation stones for future attitudes towards learning.

The infant section (6 to 8 year olds), are given opportunities to take up leadership roles, and take responsibility for themselves and friends. This enables an environments that fosters effective learning. We have a structured, vibrant and stimulating environment that enables our children make huge strides in the learning process. They are encouraged to become questioners, thinkers and explorers whilst honing their skills in English Language, Literacy and Numeracy. We also believe that they are brought to life by our unique and additional special programmes. We engage a cross curricular approach that enables independent and participatory learning.

We aspire to groom achievers and world influencers.

Dear Parents,

We believe that when the roots of a plant are watered, the shoot will glow. At Raphela Junior School we love all our children and nurture each child’s ability in a special way. Playing, exploring and active teaching train our children to become creative, critical thinkers who become responsible for their learning process. We encourage each child to individually participate and engage in all class and school activities.

We tirelessly applaud our children for every achievement they make - a smiling face here….a smiling flower there… It is always our pleasure to see that our children are happy as they walk in and out of school.

Achievements at every stage our greatest joy.

Deputy Head teachers message (ECD)

It’s with great pleasure that I introduce our ECD Curriculum. Raphela Junior School has a child centered curriculum that caters for individual difference among learners. We instill independent thinking, problem solving and cognitive abilities that advance progressive learning. Our activities are done through playfully fun methods that support learning for children of that age group. Each child gets a chance and we uphold the…No child left behind policy…

Our reading is progressive and enriched through Phonic learning. This make it easy, fun and yet interesting. Consequently the children are able to easily conceptualise and comprehend taught concepts. We are passionate about what we do and are excited at our continued growth.

We look forward to seeing you all.
